Emma was slinging hotdogs at Comic-Con when the whole crowd got Portalled to another Realm — a world where the laws of physics don't apply and even the grass is trying to kill her. She better make friends fast, because out here it's thrive or die. No amount of videogames prepared her for a world where she can actually gain Skills and level up, or for a series of trials that seem designed to kill her rather than teach her to survive. What could possibly be the real goal of the mysterious predecessors who built them?

Emma was slinging hotdogs at Comic-Con when the whole crowd got Portalled to another Realm — a world where the laws of physics don't apply and even the grass is trying to kill her. She better make friends fast, because out here it's thrive or die. No amount of videogames prepared her for a world where she can actually gain Skills and level up, or for a series of trials that seem designed to kill rather than teach. What could possibly be the real goal of the mysterious predecessors who built them?

Emma made it out of Hub Two, but now faces the next set of Trials — and this time they will involve combat. Thankfully she's not going in alone; her gang of misfits will face the Trials together. But there are still many unanswered questions about the Realm of Crystals, and the only information they have comes from the mysterious AIs linked to their eye-crystals. Can those really be trusted?

Emma and her friends are about to enter Hub Three — another explosive cocktail of dangerous inhabitants, freaky flora and fauna, and manipulative fellow survivors. For the first time, Emma has caught her AI companion Suri in a lie, and she's beginning to question what's really going on in the so-called Dreamscapes. On top of that, she's grappling with her growing attraction to Kaitlynn and what that might mean in this strange Realm.

Emma and Kaitlynn are about to start the final series of Trials — the only certainty being that it will be a bumpy ride. Beyond those trials still lies the mysterious Final Hub, undoubtedly featuring a Lightning Witch with a grudge. Even if they make it through, will what Emma gained in the Realm of Imagination prove enough to protect her in the society that awaits them outside?

Having learned the horrible truth about Peilor society, Emma has cut the chain connecting her spirit to her body and fled to the Realm of Imagination — a Realm whose ruler banished her, with no way back. Without her powerful body and Skills, she has never managed to stay there for more than a few hours before starting to Fade. If Emma is to survive and get back to Kaitlynn, she'll need to develop a whole new way of fighting — and gather a great deal of power.

Those Peilor bastards have scheduled planet Earth for abduction, and the clock is ticking. Emma and Kaitlynn must get the Blue Dragons back together and act fast, or humanity will be toast. They'll need allies in the Realm of Imagination, if those allies are willing to help on a human timeframe. And then there's Suri — once Emma's rock — whose mountain of hurt and anger must somehow be climbed before they can cooperate. How exactly do you stop a society of egomaniacal sentient crystals from stealing your home planet?
