When the power grid fails and a mysterious virus runs rampant, society collapses almost overnight. Among the survivors: a family scrambling for shelter, two orphan girls trying to last the winter, a drunk plotting revenge against the raiders who killed his parents, and a televangelist fleeing a rumored nuclear strike. Slowly their paths converge. A new world will be born from the ruins—but not all of them will make it.

The power grid goes dark, a virus spreads unchecked, and society disintegrates almost instantly. We follow a handful of survivors across the fractured landscape: a family hunting for shelter, two orphan sisters gathering supplies for winter, a grief-fueled drunk, and a televangelist on the run. Their paths will cross—and not all of them will survive.

With 99.7% of humanity dead for nearly six months, the survivors enter spring with dwindling supplies. Some fortify their current homes; others venture into the unknown. Violence and death lurk around every corner of the empty world, and every crossing of paths risks becoming a confrontation. Not all will survive these encounters.

Extinction threatens and war rages across the land as the remaining survivors fight over the scraps of a dead civilization. Izzy and Erin face dwindling supplies, Baghead and Delfino reach their destination, Lorraine ventures into the unknown, and Father struggles to hold his flock together. All paths converge—and all is revealed.
