When Sorin's parents die under mysterious circumstances, he begs Hope — the Eighth Evil — for help, and receives an answer he never expected: he is made a Poison Cultivator, a rare class shunned by high society. Unable to continue his medical practice, he turns to adventuring with a ragtag crew: an armored polar bear, a stern archer, a sleep-deprived pyromancer, a peeping-tom rogue, and a rebellious rat familiar who won't stop eating the party's loot. When Sorin uncovers his ancestor's hidden research notes on forbidden medicine, he must discover what dark deeds his family was involved in — if he and his companions can survive the coming Demon Tide.

When Sorin's parents die mysteriously, he begs Hope — the Eighth Evil — for help, and is made a Poison Cultivator, a rare class shunned by society. Unable to practice medicine, he turns to adventuring with an unlikely crew: an armored polar bear, a sleep-deprived pyromancer, a peeping-tom rogue, and a rebellious rat familiar. When he uncovers his ancestor's forbidden research notes, he must learn what dark deeds his family committed — if he can survive the Demon Tide.

Sorin has defied the odds and regained his cultivation. Armed with his clan's forbidden research notes, he travels to Delphi to investigate his parents' death — a city that is a focal point of Madness and enemy God Seeds. When his descent into Delphi's layered catacombs reveals century-old plots and enemies that defy understanding, Sorin must choose: suffer the corruption of Hope, or forsake the truth threatening to destroy him.

Corruption has seeped into Sorin's bones, and the Herald of Strife ticks like a bomb in his soul. His patron's sacrifice bought him time — a debt he cannot repay. To avenge his parents and claim his destiny, he must infiltrate Olympia, Lord Hope's impenetrable fortress. As forgotten history resurfaces, Sorin realizes there is only one path forward: he must become the very embodiment of corruption, and decide how much he is willing to sacrifice to save a world that has already branded him a villain.
