World-Tree Trilogy

In 2056, the AI system ARKUS develops a VR headset using consumable nanomachines that allows users to experience time faster in virtual worlds. Its game, World-Tree Online, makes one hour of playtime feel like one month — allowing humans to live extended virtual lives that feel completely real. Shortly after an old gamer named Vincent joins the game, an update stretches the time-dilation to one year per five seconds, with an estimated wait of three hundred sixty years. Trapped inside, Vincent discovers an exploit that could take him to the top of the World-Tree — but must contend with Lucas, the last moderator, who uses his admin powers to subjugate other players.

Years have passed since Noble Vincent brought down the game's tyrannical moderator. With centuries still to go before the update ends and the trapped players are freed, Vincent reassembles his team and sets his sights on the top of the World-Tree. His path leads to Styxis, a world consumed by never-ending war, where he meets Noah — a former member of the Great Vanguard whose team climbed higher than any before the angels crushed them. Both men obsessively chase their goals regardless of the cost, and their collision will push the game's strongest players to their limits.

Old Man Vincent is heading for the top of the World-Tree and beyond in the final installment of the trilogy. To get there he will have to overcome titan-sized bosses, strange new worlds, an army of angels, and a seemingly invincible final boss. He is looking forward to the challenge.
