When a Demonic Assault occurs, most people stuck inside a Fracture hide in a bunker hoping they don't get killed by a demon. Others might hope for the slightest chance at signing a contract with a spirit and becoming a Guardian. So when Scarlet was caught in a Fracture, the last thing she expected was to become a demon herself. Two centuries after humanity's first Demonic Assault, Scarlet is just trying to find a university in the Terran Republic's capital that will accept someone from a lower-tier city. When she ends up trapped in a Fracture during a Demonic Assault, she doesn't perish — she awakens her dormant bloodline as a noble demon: a Blood Lycan. Turns out she had been a demon all along, and had been born for the apocalypse.

Scarlet has finally started to acclimate to her new situation as a half-blood lycan and Guardian. She's joined an Association, participated in several Fractures fighting against the demons, and is now attaining her goal of joining a university — a Guardian's University, where students spend half their time fighting demons and the other half learning to fight them. How will she adapt to this new environment? What's the deal with her heritage? Will she survive a year full of Demonic Assaults and win the ranking tournaments?

As time passes, Scarlet grows more accustomed to life as a Guardian, to life at Lion's Heart, and to her status as a half-demon noble. But the Class V Fracture nears, and everything she has come to know is threatened to change.

After growing far stronger throughout her time on Tartarus, Scarlet is finally ready to return to Earth and join the war between the humans and demons. But first she has to figure out how to get home — and to do that, she may have to take up a Demon Lord's offer.

The war continues to rage on, but events are stirring — and the war will soon begin to take a back seat. The Fae Tournament is about to commence: a tournament to decide the new ruler of the Fae. But what does that title truly mean, and do the fae have ulterior motives behind the tournament?
