War Core

For decades, governments have secretly fought to keep alien invaders away from Earth. When the guardian of the United States falls, the Galactic Conflict Authority selects a new champion at random — and Hugh Logan is pulled from his classroom and told he is now Earth's defender. He must give up everything to become a War Core: a dungeon core with LitRPG and real-time strategy elements.

Mechs will clash and the fate of an entire species hangs in the balance as Hugh Logan answers the call of a former enemy turned ally. Joining other human cores as part of Earth's expeditionary force, Hugh must travel across the galaxy to help defend the Krixnas homeworld. If they fail to stop the Ssath invasion, Earth and the entire human race are next on the menu.

Hugh Logan and the other cores of the expeditionary force are back home — but the cost of keeping their allies alive was heavy. The Ssath, unwilling to accept defeat, continue to marshal their vast resources toward total victory over humanity. Hugh and the other cores must prepare. The enemy is closing in, and the next battle will be fought on Earth itself.

Hugh Logan has won the battle for Los Angeles and secured his sector of the galaxy from the Ssath. Now a former enemy offers peace and a chance to fight back against a true foe. In an uneasy alliance with the Ssath and hardened veterans at his mechs' controls, Hugh must risk everything to remove the shackles of the GCA and free the universe from endless war.
