War Aeternus

Lee is a quiet office worker with a life of solitude and routine — until a drunken god whisks him off to another world, demanding he serve as a pawn in a game between the gods. Trapped in a world full of danger, magic, and creatures he never imagined outside of fairy tales, Lee has to stay alive long enough to make it back home.

Desperate to save people from a horrible fate in the gods' cruel game, Lee and his friends abandon the relative safety of Satterfield for the great city of Kirshtein. But enemy forces have already arrived, and Lee is soon captured and forced to fight for his life in the city's arena. With new skills, new allies, and his most dangerous enemy yet, Lee must mend the rifts in a broken city — while an ominous new threat looms on the horizon.

Still recovering from his losses in Kirshtein, Lee is swept back into the fray when a dangerous new Herald sets her sights on him. Driven by a deranged sense of justice, she is willing to commit any atrocity in her pursuit of righteousness. At risk of losing everything he has built, Lee must defend the weak against a madwoman — while dealing with an increasingly erratic system and the Goddess of Blood's own strong-willed Herald.

Lee and his circle travel to the prosperous city of Birnefeld, ruled by the Dragon King. Before he even arrives, he encounters marauders ransacking the countryside, a strange new Herald, and news that the hero Brigid of Kildare has gone missing. Worse, a powerful enemy is stalking him from the shadows, toying with his dreams and striking at his closest relationships. With the seeds of doubt sown, Lee must determine who he can still trust.

Lee has barely established his foothold in Birnefeld when the anti-religious empire marches a massive army toward his doorstep. Nearly all other Heralds have been stamped out. With no other choice, Lee must turn to his dream-haunting nemesis — the Mistress of Shadows — for help. With everything on the line, Lee must gather the last world stones and close out the final chapter of this gods' cruel game before King Ramen puts an end to the faithful.
