Riding high after defending his home country, Calvin is assigned as bodyguard on a diplomatic mission to Uleis, a merchant nation whose cooperation is vital to Gadvera's survival. Uleis is run by a secretive cabal of powerful cultists — and when Calvin crosses them, they do what they do to all their problems: toss him in a hole from which there is no return.

Calvin emerges from The Siphon a Legend, wielding strange magics and the ambition to build a kingdom. Before anything new can be built, the old must be torn down — Calvin sets about using his magic to establish his land and bind the disparate countries of the continent together in friendly trade, whether they want it or not.
