The Questing Stones have come to Nowherested, and Evelia Greene is finally ready to receive her life's quest. Perhaps she'll be a great warrior, a wealthy merchant, or a brilliant mage. Or perhaps the Questing Stones will grant her the Legendary mission of popping over to the next village to pick up a loaf of bread. Eve can't guess how a level 1 Messenger Girl is supposed to complete anything labeled Legendary, but one way or another — through wolves, goblins, and spontaneously combusting bakeries — she is going to get that gods-damned bread. There just might be a few Side Quests along the way.

With the way behind them sealed, the only path forward for Eve and her friends is down — into the oppressive toxic fog of the Dead Fields. Things lurk in the mist far beyond the party's current levels, but every shadow could also mean valuable exp. Eve likes exp. Before they can return to civilization, the party must grind their way out of the Dead Fields, surviving on friendship, overwhelming violence, and mediocre puns.

Invitation in hand, Eve and friends travel north in search of the legendary Dragonwrought — the greatest of all adventuring companies in Leshk, known for their deep connections to dragons and their refusal to take new recruits for decades. Nobody knows quite how many decades. Whatever awaits Eve at her new guild, there's certain to be plenty of foot elementals, lungeons, and other patently ridiculous challenges along the way.

With betrayal weighing heavily on their spirits and the devouring flame an ever-present threat, Eve and the gang still can't quite stave off the eternal undercurrent of silliness that pervades their lives. Together they'll fight man-eating plants, officiate monster weddings, and investigate a muffin-related conspiracy deep within Pyrindel. But the fun can't last forever. There's a war brewing between high-level factions, and Eve finds herself caught in the middle. The broken trilogy is hurtling toward its end — and maybe, just maybe, there will be a loaf of bread waiting on the other side.
