Decades later, the Insectoid Empire launched a devastating new campaign against the Commonwealth — a spacefaring hive-mind of wasp analogues that did not stop after seizing border planets as before. They killed over a hundred billion souls across dozens of worlds, destroyed half the Commonwealth Navy, and swept through the undefended periphery toward the Eleani homeworld. As extinction loomed and the Commonwealth government declined to help, the Eleani broadcast pleas to anyone who would listen. The Republic of Humanity answered the call.
