Luke was your typical nine-to-five office drone when he was killed in a head-on car collision. Instead of heaven, his soul is brought to a hellish realm on the verge of destruction, where two supernatural beings engage in brutal combat. The victorious Arke prepares to claim her prize — the powerful God Seed — but the ancient artifact has plans of its own, offering to soul-bond with Luke instead. He accepts and flees to the world of Theos to escape Arke's wrath. On the island of Carim, guided by the God Seed, Luke takes possession of a recently deceased body and embarks on quests to ascend to godhood. But his resurrection does not go unnoticed. The elderly Nefkha has been charged by a pantheon of Olympian deities to locate a thief on the run — and she strikes a bargain: she'll keep Luke's identity secret in exchange for help with a mysterious task. To survive a divine manhunt, Luke must trust a dangerous ally and learn to wield a relic desired by forces beyond imagination.

During his brief time in Theos, Luke has faced supernatural dangers and acquired magical abilities beyond imagination. Guided by the God Seed bonded to his soul, he walks among champions and the divine — but wears a mask that hides his true identity from those who seek the artifact. War rages on his island home. The Rebel, Tyrisa of Peles, has ruthlessly slaughtered Emperor Cyzicus's loved ones. Joining Heracles in battle, Luke must protect Cyzicus's people while the God Seed urges him to deliver the killing blow and absorb Tyrisa's power. Then the god Hephaestus announces the tournament of Olympus — a chance for the brave to claim glory and step closer to divinity. Among the competitors are those who believe Luke's disguised face marks him as a child of Poseidon, as well as his own friends who find him suspiciously familiar. Should his identity be revealed, he will be at the mercy of the gods.
