The Worthless Player

Overworked, underappreciated, and perpetually down on his luck, Dan's life was destined for mediocrity — until the apocalypse struck, gifting him a unique system ability and a shot at being the hero he always fantasized about. Will he conquer the undead hordes and monstrous nightmares invading his city, or will he remain an extra in somebody else's hero story?

When the end of the world arrives, people know they can always count on a hero — a John. But until they find the real one, they'll have to make do with Dan. As undead pour into the suburbs and monsters flood the cities, Dan and the Crusaders must find a way to stem the tide.

Clumsy, awkward, and just trying to survive, Dan is the last person you'd expect to save the day. But when the apocalypse throws him together with the legendary warrior True John, his life takes an unexpected turn. Armed with nothing but a baseball bat and a wholehearted lack of survival skills, Dan must make morally gray decisions as the Crusaders fight through hordes of zombies, mutants, and worse.
