The Sorcerer

A powerful sorcerer's ritual to save his world sends him further into the past than intended — and into an alternate history: the year 1909 in the Russian Empire. Stuck in the body of a skinny teenage boy with no friends, no money, and no title, he must regain his former abilities and learn new ones. This strange new world is ruled by magical aristocrats, and all manner of evil spirits and ghouls crawl out of Breaches in reality into the streets of St. Petersburg. For him, though, this is just a minor setback — his mission is far from over.

The enemy may be gone, but far more dangerous foes are already stirring in the shadows. The tide of evil monsters pouring through the Breaches surges, growing stronger by the day — and the cause seems to lie with those who persist in using nithstangs, cursed artifacts that harm even seasoned Magisters. The Imperial Guards and the Order of St. George are stretched thin, barely holding the line. How is a high school student like Vladimir Volkov supposed to survive, let alone fight back? He is, after all, an ancient sorcerer reborn.

Vladimir now wears the purple-trimmed uniform of the St. George Regiment. More and more monsters crawl from the Breaches, while a cunning sorcerer erases every trace and silences anyone who ventures too close. The investigation reaches the highest circles of the capital, where a hidden conspiracy threatens the life of the empire's sole heir. To stop it, Vladimir must plunge into palace intrigue, gain allies, and confront new enemies — all while surviving between a rock and an anvil.
