The Selected

Max is one of the Selected — chosen from among billions of people on Earth, granted superpowers, and dropped onto an unknown world. It sounds heroic. But there are rules, and the first rule of the Selected is: try not to die. It is expensive and impractical.

Max and his companions have their own dungeon now — they just have to get those dumb gnomes to work for them. Oh, and figure out what happened to the goblins who swiped their waystone. Everyone tried to set them up. To hell with them. They'll handle their problems themselves.

Lord Max leads his group of collectors — now a Great Group — and is ready to declare war on not one but two Great Clans simultaneously. This world needs a new hero, and it might as well be him.

Cat lady Mirelle and her Celestial Clan are still in this world when they should have moved on to the next. Max has had enough. No democracy here — just despotism, tyranny, and the coming of the lord. Which means Max, if you hadn't worked it out yet.
