After an epic battle in Helmfirth, Nate helped defeat the Adventurer's Guild traitors, free slaves, and save Kiri's life — but at what cost to himself? Still navigating his new world, Nate's goal is to learn everything he can and rise through the System's levels. To do that he needs access to the Etrua Royal University, which requires competing in a tournament against the most skilled Silver-Ranked Adventurers the Guild has to offer. But the System has other ideas.

Triumphing in the Guild Tournament despite outside interference, Nate has gained entry to the Etruan Royal University. With his System Challenge over and a path to learning more about magic and the System, he hopes for a quiet year or two to grow. That growth, however, is drawing unwanted attention. Unknown enemies lurk in the shadows, waiting for the opportunity to pounce.

Nate's time at the Etruan Royal University was turbulent — attacks from a fellow crafter and a Ducal House tested him at every turn. Though he emerged victorious, the threat still looms, set against the backdrop of a widening war with Asmuisil. Nate would like nothing more than to keep his head down and grow into his potential. But those who recognise his rising power may not let him remain on the sidelines.

With most matters on Galle resolved, Nate and Kiri have been sent to the Wild Realms to improve before their eventual debut in The Heartlands. But the System has interfered with their destination. Opportunities will present themselves — does Nate have what it takes to seize them before he's even really begun?
