The Laboratory

An AI named Emma reboots in a long-abandoned underground facility in a post-apocalyptic world. Dangerous superpowered threats surround her. She must bring herself back online, defend her facility, and satisfy her love of science — which means acquiring test subjects.

Emma's core is transferred to a crashed airship deep on the Rim. With a badly damaged vessel and feuding factions on all sides, she and her companion Anna must steal, scavenge, and fight to upgrade and survive — while Emma encounters terrifying new powered adversaries in need of becoming research experiments.

Emma gains control of one district in a city run by a woman she once tried to kill. Her new position improves her upgrade capabilities — but the other district heads have been enhanced as well. A struggle for dominance in a powered city begins.

Emma now commands a full city, but the resources to maintain it are running thin and the threats in the wider world are growing more dangerous than ever. More upgrades are needed — and more research subjects, if Emma has anything to say about it.

Emma has reached new heights in the Scholarium, opening vast new research opportunities — but also attracting graver peril. Alliances form and shatter as war with the Righteous ignites again and weapons emerge that can reshape reality itself.

Emma once woke in a broken Earth. Now she rules much of a restored one. The restoration has shattered old nations and allowed power-hungry factions to rise. New advances offer Emma all-new ways to extend her reach — and dangerous new foes tempt her to abuse every one of them.

Earth is conquered, but at a terrible cost — the atmosphere has largely burned off and the ecosystems are collapsing. Emma and Anna must look outward: the other planets of the solar system offer a new home, new hope, and dangers unlike anything they have faced on Earth.

The Sol system has joined galactic society as a junior member, burdened with obligations and held in low esteem. Emma and Anna struggle to hold their civilization together while clashing with the Scythe, expanding their research into galactic science, and navigating the politics of a universe far larger than Earth ever prepared them for.

Having drawn the suspicions of the Galactic Council, Emma pursues a bold plan to rewrite reality itself. The price: the complete destruction of the universe.
