After serving two terms in the Iron Army's Building Division, Flint Woodson is done with it all. With his four-legged friend at his side, he wants nothing more than to find a remote settlement, work as a guard or builder, and find a wife. But the realm is at war. The Fae are sick of humankind violating their treaties, and their Wyld armies are taking to the fields. When the Diskverse sends Flint a Life Quest — reawaken the Sleeping Fort, protect the village of Lea's Slumber, and give the Champion of Equilibrium time to grow — saying no isn't an option.

After serving two terms in the Iron Army's Building Division, Flint Woodson is done with it all. With his four-legged friend at his side, he wants nothing more than to find a remote settlement, work as a guard or builder, and find a wife. But the realm is at war. The Fae are sick of humankind violating their treaties, their Wyld armies taking to the fields. When the Diskverse sends Flint a Life Quest — reawaken the Sleeping Fort, protect the village of Lea's Slumber, and give the Champion of Equilibrium time to grow — saying no isn't an option.

Flint thought his decade in the Iron Army's Building Division gave him enough experience to complete the life quest. Restoring the Slumbering Fort proved no challenge — but protecting it and Lea's Slumber from looming threats is an entirely different story. The first two attacks were minor. Now more formidable threats are on the way. With the pack and the Woodson Council at his side, Flint must hold together a coalition where every faction has its own agenda — because if external threats don't doom the Champion of Equilibrium's future, someone on the inside will.

Lost. Crippled. Alone. The defences and army Flint built are safe on the Iron Disk. Flint is not. Now he's stuck in an alien world of forever night, plagued by cannibalistic vikings and draugr, with an eldritch world-devouring god floating in the sky. Despite the loss of a limb, Flint must fight and find a way home — for the young woman and puppies trapped in this dangerous world with him. Fortunately, remnants of rune-powered druidic machines are their only hope, and Flint has the blood to use them.

Bruised, battered, but somehow alive. Flint is safe amongst his people — but the Woodson lands no longer feel like home. He was away for only half a year, yet close to a decade has passed for his people. New ruling structures have formed, alliances have shifted, and the council he gathered to advise him has now replaced his position as ruler. Worse, Oth the Devourer of Worlds haunts Flint's dreams, and the vikings and draugr that worship him need blood and slaves — with his home in their path. The disk needs unity, but first Flint must convince the other ruling powers of the coming threat.
