The God Machine

When Luke Bennet wakes in a world where time flows differently than on Earth, he discovers his missing family has been dead for a hundred years. Forced to survive in a hostile wilderness full of murderous goblins and giant spiders, he relies on his newly acquired System to level up and stay alive. When he finally reaches civilization, the locals mistake him for a Guardian. Soon he's brawling in a fight club — but the dreaded inquisitors are on his tail, and Luke's own System seems to be working against him.

Luke Bennet isn't fighting alone anymore. With the dwifkin Zea at his side, he faces mercenaries, raiders, and a bloodthirsty inquisitor — all while pursuing his one goal: recovering his missing family. As he and Zea bank on a bloodline purification ritual to reach the God Machine, enemies keep emerging from the woodwork. The church has marked all off-worlders as apostates, but seems to hold a particular hatred for Luke. Why does everyone want him dead?

Luke Bennet and his partner Zea have reached the eastern continent, closing in on their goal of reaching the God Machine and returning home. But the Pantheon has unleashed a horde of demons across the land to stop him — beings that exist outside the System itself and don't yield experience. Necromancers, monstrous spider colonies, and a draconic guardian await. Whatever stands in his way, Luke is determined to unravel the God Machine's mysteries so he and his family can finally go home.
