After five years of adventuring, Arcanist Sylar Spellsight now spends his days catching up on Essence Studies and teasing apart the functions of arcane trinkets discovered throughout his travels. An unexpected accident during the study of his latest subject displaces him across the Planes, far beyond what any known spell is capable of achieving. Now finding himself lost in a realm rich in previously-limited Transcendental Essences, Sylar isn't entirely sure he wants to return home. Learning new spell structures by observing the local mages should prove entertaining — though their strange 'cultivation' practices and lack of appreciation for Essence manipulation may hold hidden depths that neither side has yet to fully realise.
