The Divine Dungeon

Cal is a Dungeon Core — a soul forced against his will into a magical stone. With the help of an energetic Wisp, he grows a dungeon around himself to draw in new sources of power. When a threat he doesn't fully comprehend bares its teeth, Cal is determined to survive at any cost — and the only way to do so is to consume anyone who enters his depths. Meanwhile, a young sheep-herder turned Noble walks his own path of cultivation, one that will intertwine with Cal's in ways neither can foresee.

Both Cal and Dale have grown stronger, each in spite of the other. Cal knows exactly how much their strength has increased and is working hard to become exponentially more powerful — his schemes growing more complex, his dungeon more deadly. Dale has a nasty surprise waiting as he works to thwart the devious dungeon, hearing a voice in his head that distracts him at critical moments. He must fight his own mind even as he fights deadly creatures. Unbeknownst to both, they are in for the fight of their lives as madness threatens the land.

Powerful necromancers are on the move and Cal is caught in the crossfire. Without his faithful Wisp Dani, Cal's mind slips and he begins creating traps and monsters that go against even his loose morals. After a direct threat stabilizes his thoughts, he throws all his resources into staying sane while funding searches for his lost companion. For Dale, deadly reminders show that no matter how well he does locally, he is still considered weak in the greater world. Determined to gain strength by any means necessary — even politics — his decisions are starting to cost him.

Necromantic armies are on the warpath and nowhere is safe — not even Cal's floating dungeon. The leadership of nearly all sentient monarchies has been wiped out, leaving only the races most suited to repelling the darkness with an intact chain of command. Cal quickly learns that the greatest threat is not the far-off war but those entrusted to protect the general population. A flying dungeon is a very tempting prize. Dale, meanwhile, finds his hard-won duties forcibly taken from him — and his only chance at survival is painful, rigorous advancement.

Unlikely allies unite across the world as blood feuds spanning centuries collide with a single chance at life. The insanity of Xenocide knew no bounds, and all will soon suffer the effects of plans laid over a millennium. The Master has a plan to give the world a way to escape the onrushing desolation — but it requires trust, and what he needs may prove too difficult to secure. Cal and Dale each have a role to play: one must bring the races of the world together, the other simply needs to survive. The apocalypse is coming.
