Summoners are born, not made — and Bran of Ealdor was born without the gift. None of the six summoner classes are open to him. Then a griffin crash-lands into his stable, and everything changes. Thrust into a world of magical creatures and their masters, Bran discovers just how unique he is. But uniqueness makes him a target, and the world's most powerful summoners will stop at nothing to uncover his secret.

After completing his Ranger training, Bran begins Mage training under Lara's tutelage. He expects to level far faster than before. But deeper mysteries lurk at Ketria Academy — ones that will shock him to his core, and attract the attention of someone who very much wants to use him for their own ends.

Bran has learned the truth about himself — he's a summoner who can use multiple classes, and he isn't from the human realm. This knowledge comes with a price: enemies on every side. With Volrath and the Morkoth Empire at war with his home kingdom, the situation reaches a boiling point. When Morkoth claims Volrath acted alone and sues for peace, Bran must uncover the truth in the kingdom's capital — and the answer changes everything.

After defeating Volrath, Bran sets out alone in search of his people: the Worldbreakers. The journey proves far more dangerous than expected. The Lost Realms have been separated from the Mortal Realm by more than a portal — they've been separated by time. The Worldbreakers there are thousands of years old, their king distrusts outsiders, and Bran and his friends are forced to fight in an arena against opponents who should be impossible to defeat.

After discovering the prophecy about himself and freeing the king's prisoners, Bran must find a way to buy time — slowing it down in both the Lost Realm and the Mortal Realm — to train and prepare. But time cannot be slowed forever. When King Goltran, the most powerful summoner in the universe, leads his Worldbreaker army to the Mortal Realm, Bran must stop him before everyone is eradicated.
