Starbreaker

Sylvas Vail is the most powerful mage on his planet — a big fish in a small pond. When the doors to the cosmos come crashing open and all the untold wonders and terrors of the universe pour in, he is left with only two choices: ascend or die. A dark prophecy marks his fate from the beginning: "Starbreaker, thrice named. Starbreaker, awake."

The Culling is over, and against all odds, Sylvas stands victorious. But his training has barely begun. Before he can catch his breath, he and all the other cadets are whisked off-planet for their next trial: Onslaught Citadel. This time, dying won't be enough to save them.

Even the icy grip of death couldn't claim Sylvas as he returns to Strife. Another trial, another victory — Sylvas is a star clearly on the rise, noticed far beyond his small sphere. Countless powers have turned their gaze toward him as he competes with the best the Ardent have to offer. Will he continue his ascent? Only time — and blood — will tell.

The unimaginable has happened: Sylvas has taken in War, Blood, and Strife and bound them to his heart. This feat sees the Empyrean Alliance pulling back the veil that once masked everything. For the first time, Sylvas can see his place in the galaxy — standing between the threats that seek to unmake it. And make no mistake: they do seek to unmake it.

The galaxy burns as the end of days draws nigh. After returning to civilization, Sylvas and the others scramble to determine their next move — return to the Ardent, answer the council's call to the core worlds, or pursue the legacy of the Aions. Whatever they choose, they must choose quickly. Time is running out, and the Obsidian Dominion has finally made their move.
