The Singularity — the merger of man and machine — is within humanity's grasp. Programmer Jeff Lawing joins Singularity Online, the world's first truly realistic VRMMO and its testing ground. Singularity is darker than Jeff imagined. As a Sorcerer, his arcane magic is limited only by his imagination — but will it be enough to survive the deadliest training quest he's ever encountered, or to protect himself in a fallen realm filled with undead?

Aranos has freed the first Fallen Realm in mortal reckoning and returned victorious — yet instead of celebration, he finds himself surrounded by secretly and openly hostile elves in the Stronghold of Eredain. His allies are few, his enemies numerous. Geltheriel is handed a quest that seems impossible or death, and Aranos has promised to see her through it. Meanwhile, the entire city of Eredain teeters on the edge of Falling to the Darkness — and a god has taken notice of him, in the worst way.

With Eredain secured, Aranos and his party travel to the lost city of Antas to pursue Geltheriel's Cleansing Quest. The High Roads are more dangerous than anything he faced in the Blightlands, and Antas has repelled every prior assault with no survivors. At the same time, Aranos must learn to build the fledgling House Evenshade through alliances, even as a hidden hand works to tear it down before it stands. Penetrating the city's Vault, forging alliances, and surviving an old enemy's powerful new master — all at once.

The dread lich Zoridos is dead and Antas liberated — but now Aranos' real trials begin. Geltheriel's Cleansing Quest is a task set to fail, requiring Aranos to travel to the lands of humans and dwarves in search of powers lost for centuries. His enemies are not idle, and the dark god Morx has taken a personal hand in bringing him down. Restoring the Arcane Doors seems impossible; facing the Lord of Nightmares is beyond impossible. But Aranos is determined to do the impossible.

War is coming to the Realms of Light. Aranos wounded a god and destroyed a Nightmare Beast — the Darkness cannot let that stand. Armies march, and the lands of Light are scattered and unprepared. It falls to Aranos to unite the lands and forge their armies into a force capable of withstanding what is coming. To do that, he must face hidden enemies, battle national rulers, and convince the people of the Light to march under his banner.

War has come to the Lands of Light, and the Lightborn look to Aranos. Armies of urukkai, spider-people, Shadowborn, and the mad player Lily's forces press from every direction. The elven capital has fallen, and the Lightborn are outnumbered and broken. The key to victory is restoring the Arcane Doors, but the tendrils of Darkness run deep — turning those who should be allies into enemies. Aranos must travel into the Darkness and redeem what was Corrupted centuries ago: the Hearts of the Lands.

War rages and the Darkness seems to be winning. Aranos has only days to finish Redeeming the Arcane Doors before his Quest fails and Geltheriel is lost. The Dark Pantheon itself has taken up arms against him. To overcome the Darkness, Aranos must delve deeper than ever into his arcane powers — but even Primal magic may not be enough when the Darkbringer herself, Queen of the Dark Pantheon, stands against him. To save everyone, he may have to lose everything.
