You are no one. Level zero. Empty of mind and memory — your past stripped by the inscrutable System. A long, difficult road lies between you and remembering who you are, punctuated by one death after another. In the world of S.T.Y.X., information is your only resource, but those with experience rarely care about your plight — and some make it their mission to kill you. Your life counter ticks lower with every death, and no one knows what happens when it reaches zero. The luckiest players are the cheaters. Perhaps cheating is the only way to win.

You are no one. Level zero. Memory stripped by the System. A long road of repeated deaths lies between you and remembering who you are. In S.T.Y.X., information is your only resource, but the experienced care nothing for you — and some actively hunt you. Your life counter clicks lower with each death. The luckiest players are those who find a vulnerability in the System. Perhaps cheating is the only way to win.

The System is generous — not with presents, but with predicaments. Cheater has a goal that sounds suicidal for a veteran, never mind a newcomer whose intellect is still shackled by the System. His only way forward: develop his skills, grow stronger, faster, wiser, and more fearsome with each passing day. But the System has intentions of its own, and hits him with unforeseen, unpleasant refutations of his plans at every step.

Cheater's accuracy is unparalleled and luck is on his side. He has all the marks of a champion. But his true aim — the woman he seeks — lies far to the west, beyond several of the Continent's most dangerous locations. He sets out with an experienced friend whose loyalty is difficult to verify, knowing that friendship can turn on you the moment you miss a deadline.

Cheater has no tank convoy, no trade caravan, no reliable team — only a parody of a party, with one or two experienced members and a handful of unknowns. Some seem too new to cut it anywhere. The party leader drinks an endless stream of warm alcoholic fizz to fuel his life-or-death decisions. In the borderlands, even the luckiest traveler could hardly expect to succeed. Cheater, however, has no choice.

A wilderness so bare that seeing a cactus is cause for celebration. On his burned shoulders, Cheater carries a heavy rifle and loot worth more than a palace — a haul that grows heavier with every location he visits. He begins to feel like fate is a devil pouring wealth upon him to weigh him down to death. In a land this hellish, it is best not to speak of the devil.

Cheater the Lucky Legend. He never misses. He can never be held captive. His inexorable progress westward leaves a trail of corpses. Only one crossing stands between him and his destination — between him and his soulmate. But his companions stall at every opportunity. Has he been wrong to trust them? For some, this campaign will cost them their lives. For others, the cost may be greater still.
