Reincarnation of the Death God

For thousands of years, the cycle of fate repeats: the Death God is reborn, only to be slain by a Hero chosen by the Goddess of Life. Having reached the peak of power, Nox the Death God accepts his death — but it was all a part of his plan to break the cycle once and for all. By altering the reincarnation process to retain his memories, he wakes in the body of Eli, a recently-murdered orphan. With a portion of his death magic and vast mana intact, he enrolls in the Holy Academy of the Church of Life — the very organization that killed him — while hiding his true identity and dealing with bandits, monsters, and the mysterious Avatars of Death. His final goal: transcend the power of gods and escape his inevitable fate.

Exam season arrives at the Holy Academy, and Nox — now known as Eli — faces his first real obstacle: midterm exams that force him to regurgitate the Church of Life's lies. More troubling, after investigating an incident involving a classmate and the Artifacts of Death, Eli finds himself entangled in the criminal underworld of Albus, making a dangerous new enemy in the Crimson Covenant. As leader of the Blood Swords, he must use every resource at his disposal to survive — including help from allies of his past life. Meanwhile, the Lady of Light begins her own investigation into the Church and sets her sights on finding the Death God.
