Realm of Arkon

A new update arrives to the ultra-popular online game, Realm of Arkon. With Patch 17, the level of immersion in gaming capsules has made virtual reality indistinguishable from the real world. But every gamer's dream becomes a nightmare for Roman Kozhevnikov after he gets confined to Arkon against his will — locked in its deadliest zone, Demon Grounds — where the sensation of pain has reached one hundred percent.

An immortal wanderer in an enormous alien world, Krian struggles to survive in a closed plane populated by powerful mobs and hostile NPCs. With bungled stats, inadequate gear, and no friends by his side, he is driven only by willpower and hatred toward the people responsible for his misery. Revenge is his purpose now — and his path lies through the cursed princedom of Craedia stretching far to the south.

The flames of war spread through the Cursed Princedom to devastating effect. Bound by powerful centuries-old magic, the Great Essences yearn to regain their freedom. In the face of an impossible mission, Krian has no choice but to keep going, risking everything dear to him. The only solution is to become stronger and forget the meaning of the word 'impossible.' A plangent wolf's howl soars over the battlefield as plate-clad cavalry rushes the enemy ranks.

A great war encroaches following the turbulent events of Patch 17, casting a menacing shadow over both Demon Grounds and the lands of the light races. Roused from a millennia-old slumber, dark gods seek to exact vengeance for their past defeat. Max finds himself at the epicenter — with the lives of his woman, his friends, and all his people in the Wild Wood dependent on him.

When driven by a goal, the impossible often becomes doable — like slaughtering an entire coven of the Twice Cursed God's adepts, or leading a legion of demons to storm the last bastion of the Cursed Princedom. But as impossible hurdles keep on coming, even that drive may not be enough for Krian to escape Demon Grounds, reach the higher plane, reunite with his sister and friend, and exact vengeance on his mortal enemy.

The Spectral City of Cathella is shrouded in the strange magic of a powerful artifact. Krian must face the Great Dragons of Pangea, an impossible quest on the Ancient Paths, transformation by the Twice Cursed God, a journey through an endless graveyard, and the smile of the Goddess of Stealth. The path to the higher plane never seems to end — but not for an Elder Demon.

Roman was never supposed to escape the locked plane that was his prison. Yet somehow the impossible became possible with the help of new friends and despite the tricks of old enemies. But when gods themselves join the fray, the chances of victory fall from slim to none — just don't tell that to Roman, better known as Krian the Prince of Craedia, whose will to fight for the realm he now calls home is inexhaustible.

The final battle looms. On one front, the god of hatred leads a horde of undead threatening to overrun the orcish steppe. On another, a dark god aims to break out of Limbh. But even those threats pale before what comes from the East: three ancient beasts set on wiping out all living beings. The AI systems are in death throes as the Realm of Arkon seems less and less like a game. Krian must fight for his freedom, his friends, and the future of the world he now calls home.

The world stands on the edge as the Ancient Gods advance on the Great Forest. An enemy from a past life aims to transform into a Beast and destroy Providence itself. To stop him, all must stake their life on the Scales of Fate — and make the ultimate choice: death in battle or life in slavery.
