Portal to Nova Roma

Alexander is a rogue artificial intelligence who, after losing the only person he ever cared about, opens a portal to an alternate dimension to escape his grief. He downloads his intelligence into a body built from stolen technology and bio-enhancements — and steps through into what he hoped would be a world of idyllic adventure. Instead, he finds himself in an ancient city in a divergent timeline where monsters have ravaged civilization and survivors huddle behind thick walls. Alexander and his growing legion have escaped Nova Roma and learned that the wider world may not be as destroyed as they feared. Setting sail for ancient Venice, they encounter a plague of deadly pirates, scheming merchant families, mysterious new allies — and something that threatens to tear Alexander away from everything he has built. Lost, shackled, and stripped of most of his abilities, Alexander must confront a darker side of himself before the growing corruption of his mind turns him into a danger to the very world he is trying to save.

In the aftermath of Carthage, Alexander is plagued by demonic corruption and mental exhaustion. A mysterious prisoner offers a unique form of power — but with unclear motivations. Meanwhile, Alexander must secure trade routes for Venice before the pirate threat returns, leading his legion north into dangerous frontier territory where outposts have been overrun by powerful monsters. As Alexander ventures deeper into the unknown, he must also find a way to heal his fractured mind.
