To stop the collapse, Max and Kira must rally their most trusted friends and push to their absolute limits: creepy dungeons, impossible bosses, and their own nightmares stand between them and saving the game.

A year after the events that nearly destroyed Carpe Noctem, a new threat emerges: an unkillable player is attempting to take over the virtual world. Max and Kira are called in to take him down. To win, the party must form their own house, infiltrate a tropical palace, pull off an elaborate heist, and maybe do a little dancing. With enemies old and new lurking everywhere, the stakes may be higher than their lives.

Max and his party set down a dark path of vengeance — and finding their target in-game isn't enough; they need to find them in real life. Now the most infamous players in Noctem, they receive an invitation to an exclusive auction offering powerful contract items. Down a party member, they need a new ally — but with lords, villains, thieves, and assassins all gathering, finding an ally is easy. Trusting one is far harder.
