Paths of Power

A truck driver in his mid-thirties is stranded 700 miles from his family when the System arrives and ends the world. With no truck, just his loyal dog, and monsters around every corner, he has to make hard choices and cover an impossible distance through a world where the System mutates plants and animals and spawns dungeons.

One week after System Initialization, over 70% of the world's population is dead. Stage 2 begins: more complex monsters form tribes, greedy leaders seize power, and the survivors struggle to rebuild. John and his dog Rukia continue the journey home through Wyoming with three new companions — a fellow cultivator, a man of faith, and a summoner — facing dungeons and increasingly dangerous creatures while navigating human conflict from within.

John and his companions enter Colorado for the final leg of their 700-mile journey home. Humanity's population keeps dwindling, and some survivors have discovered a lust for power rather than unity. John and his friends have overcome monsters and dungeons — but they are about to learn that the most formidable foes aren't the mindless creatures. They're fellow survivors.
