Kay's life takes an unexpected turn when he is transported to a mysterious world brimming with unfamiliar Skills, Classes, and a System. There he discovers a unique Class never seen before — a powerful new form of blood magic that allows him to shape and manipulate the life force in his veins. Kay and his mentor Eleniah embark on a journey into the unknown — her chosen classroom a monster-infested stretch of wilderness where no one sane would venture. When a motley crew of refugees and adventurers unexpectedly intrudes, Kay finds leadership thrust upon him and an entire settlement to look after. Juggling new responsibilities while advancing his Classes and Skills is challenge enough, but something far more ominous lurks beneath their new home — something hungry, vicious, and bloodthirsty, eyeing their idyllic hamlet as the perfect meal.

Kay is making his stand as the leader of Avalon and won't back down. With an upgraded class, powerful skills, and a title of nobility, he's gone from stranded Outworlder to powerful blood mage. But power comes at a price. Bandits, slavers, pirates, and monsters demand his attention as he grows his refugee camp into a real city. The more he succeeds, the more enemies he makes — nobles, nations, and powers are taking notice of Avalon, and they want what he has.

As the Lord of Avalon and a Class Line Progenitor, Kay is becoming a powerhouse — but he's also a tier-five vampire, the first of his kind in Torotia. His people know he's not a monster, but the Shatterplate Order believes he is their ancient enemy, one of the blood-hungry eldritch horrors that have plagued the world for centuries. Just when Kay thought he could relax, a new wave of terror crashes in. Eldritch horrors are emerging worldwide, and the Seramist Isles are under threat. Answering a call from Queen Alahna, Kay is thrust onto an island paradise where the enemies are like none he's faced before — duplicates of people that only he can detect. With no one he can trust, Kay must navigate the treacherous waters of a foreign court while watching every single person around him for a knife aimed at his back.

After defeating the eldritch nanomachine tide and saving the Seramist Isles, Kay's troubles aren't over. His triumphant return home to a flourishing kingdom is cut short by hordes of vampyr swarming from the ravaged wasteland. Yet the unknown vampyric Great One is only part of the danger — something has been lurking in the background, manipulating events from the shadows. It is cunning, patient, and hungry. If Kay can't resist the hunger from the void, everything he's come to know and love may cease to exist.
