What would the world be like if video game rules suddenly applied? Marcus is about to find out. After a freak accident he finds himself stuck between a game and the real world. He'll need to fight his way through football hooligans, carnies, and the dreaded RNG to reach the final boss and save the world. Along the way he'll learn new skills, chase epic loot, and most importantly of all, level up.

Josh's biggest worry was completing Shadow Souls on sadistic difficulty — until he caught the attention of a planet of intergalactic trial-by-combat lawyers who fight their legal battles using giant mechs. His only advantage is a trusty games controller. Meanwhile, ethereal alien courier Gargle has been dropped on Earth and told to blend in with teenagers.

Marcus believed the game was over, but it had an extra life. Thrown into a strange new world, he's playing a game designed to test every aspect of who he is. He and his allies must collect all eight Daggers of Power to find the way out — but the King is throwing everything he has at them, from dragons to drop bears, golems to geese, and rangers to rock bands.
