Monty died and woke up in the body of a dying priest in a strange world of levels, classes, and magic. Inheriting the priest's duty to protect a caravan, he must keep up the facade of a stolen identity while facing bandits and worse. The priest's powerful Light magic is now his—and so is the willingness to use it to kill.

Defeated by devils, with death spreading faster than expected through the elven lands, Monty and the caravan must move on. Mighty new allies and enemies appear on the horizon as the group pushes toward the goblin cities, where others promise riches—but something darker lurks beneath the surface.
