Mimic & Me

Betrayed and left for dead by a group of slaving nobles, a poor scout named Liem thinks there's nothing left for him but bleeding out. A gelatinous, gluttonous mimic finds him right when he's about to die — and instead of eating him, fuses with him, enhancing his body and turning him into a half-man, half-mimic monstrosity. Once a down-on-his-luck scout, he now has new capabilities far beyond anything anyone on Basania has seen before. The only problem? His new bodymate's insatiable hunger for cake and human flesh.

Escaped from a nest of backbiting nobles, Liem finds himself stranded in the middle of nowhere, in enemy territory, with only a demented mimic and a renegade elf to watch his back. Arrdeam's rulers are determined to keep their civilians weak and under control — but that won't work for Liem, Melina, and Chester. They need to grow strong enough to defeat all their enemies, make their way back home for revenge, and survive the mysterious corruption sweeping through the world.

Having brought down the first leg of Harkel's slaving empire, Liem and his companions are getting ever closer to cutting off the head of the snake. But assassins lurk in the shadows and dangerous foes want them dead before they can face Harkel himself. Through it all, the giant near-indestructible mimic Chester can turn into anything he absorbs — from a giant carriage to a massive pile of garbage that can kill dungeon bosses — and may yet have a few new transformations in store.

Chester, as it turns out, is actually a monster god. His fellow Calamities — enraged that he'd forgotten them — have fused their worlds together, leaving everyone stuck in a bizarre and dangerous hellscape overflowing with corrupted monsters. Liem must rebuild what has been destroyed and raise an army if there's any chance of fighting back. And maybe, between the wild transformations and corrupted monster buffets, Chester and Liem can finally uncover the truth behind Chester's mysterious past.
