Martin Banks is just a normal guy who makes an abnormal discovery: reality is nothing more than a computer program, and he can manipulate it. When his little 'tweaks' attract unwanted attention, he time-travels to Medieval England to pose as a wizard rather than face prosecution. An American hacker in King Arthur's court, Martin must train to become a full-fledged master of his powers, discover the truth behind the ancient wizard Merlin — and not, you know, die or anything.

Martin Banks discovers that reality is nothing more than a computer program — and he can manipulate it. When his little 'tweaks' attract notice, he decides to travel back in time to the Middle Ages and pose as a wizard rather than face prosecution. An American hacker in King Arthur's court, Martin must now train to become a full-fledged master of his powers, discover the truth behind the ancient wizard Merlin — and not, you know, die or anything.

A month has passed since Martin helped defeat the evil programmer Jimmy, but his love life is in shambles — Gwen has journeyed to Atlantis, a kingdom governed by Sorceresses and a safe haven for female time-travelers. Martin and Philip are invited to a summit in Atlantis for all leaders of the time-traveler colonies, and Martin sees a chance to try again with Gwen. Of course, this being Martin Banks, murder, mystery, and high intrigue all get in the way.

Martin and his fellow computer geeks have been happily hacking reality and posing as medieval wizards — until the vengeful Todd, a former apprentice they sent to prison, escapes and traps them inside a computer game. Stripped of their magic, the would-be wizards must brave wolves, wenches, wastelands, and each other's company if they ever want to see Medieval England again.

Martin and his friends decide to make dragons. It does not go well. As the wizards struggle to control their creations and protect innocent citizens, they try new things, meet angry new people, and fight epic battles — most of which they lose. Their biggest challenge may be a young girl who knows they created the dragons and is determined to make them pay.

Brit has jumped around in time with such abandon that she must coexist with multiple versions of herself. Now Brit the Elder finds her memories don't match Brit the Younger's — and there's a glitch making her body fritz out. Meanwhile, Martin is trying to protect Philip from a relentless attacker; Gwen is angry because Martin accidentally proposed to her; and an old nemesis might have to be the one to save them all.

Mattie and Brewster are normal 16-year-old twins with boring parents — or so they thought. When their father's best friend shows up in a bathrobe and their parents are frozen like statues, the twins set off to discover the truth of their parents' secret lives. The trail leads through secrets, lies, magic, time travel, strange new friends, stranger new enemies, and a really weird dirigible — which, they're told repeatedly, is not a blimp.
