Henchman

Gus is a perfectly happy Henchman on an orbiting space base — until the base is destroyed and he's thrown at the planet below. Surviving through sheer luck and newly awakened powers, he washes up on a deserted island. Marooned and hunted, Gus has no Hero coming to save him. It's time to build something of his own.

Just as Gus settles into his island lair, it's overrun by intruders — with entirely good intentions, which is somehow worse. The original owners of the island have discovered that the manor is up for grabs, and they know the world-changing secret it hides. Out of his depth, Gus scrambles to hold on to his one shot at something real. A woman from his pre-super past shows up to help — but he can't be sure where her loyalties lie.

Still reeling from the sacrifices made to protect the manor, Gus is thrust into a leadership role he's ill-equipped for. Teaming up with his father's crew, he races to find answers before the fraying threads of his past unravel completely — all while powerful forces maneuver to use him as a pawn in a global conspiracy against all supers.

Gus is doing his best to deal with Mengele's sabotage while keeping his growing team together and the people they love alive. The threats pressing in on them multiply, and Gus must learn to temper his escalating powers before they consume him — even as he stands at the tipping point of a new future for superkind.
