Dungeon World

In a world five times the size of Earth, dungeons and their dungeon cores have become the top of the food chain. Humans delve into dungeons to acquire Essence in a symbiotic relationship lasting centuries. Far in the northern wilds, a young man is left alone when his parents are suddenly murdered. Without friends, family, or supplies, he embarks on a journey to find out who targeted his parents — and discovers something about himself that his parents said was impossible: he harbors the abilities of a dungeon core.

Fred did something bad. The destruction of a dungeon core — accident or otherwise — will likely result in horrific consequences for everyone connected with the crime. Knowing his mistake will endanger his new friends and the townspeople of Gatecross, Fred decides to establish his own dungeon to provide the defense they need to survive the expected retaliation. Unfortunately, the Nature Faction isn't the only one that learned about Fred's crime. The Dungeon Adventurer Syndicate has also sent a powerful group to investigate.

Following a miraculous resurrection, Fred managed to reunite with his Dire Wolf guide Deecy and performed an equally miraculous resurrection of Eisa, the human woman who had professed her love for him. But would she be the same as before, or forever changed by the unique process that brought her back? The group journeys west in search of the Core Power Guild and the townspeople of Gatecross, passing through the Deadlands — a constantly decaying landscape filled with undead monsters. The Nature and Earth Cores that Fred inadvertently destroyed have not forgotten him.

Fred and his friends wind up in the city of Allroads, where he breaks his allies out of prison using his special abilities and creates a small dungeon underneath the city. This activity gains the attention of the elemental Dungeon Core factions, as Allroads occupies the middle of a protected Convergence — an area of intense elemental concentration. Now Allroads is under siege, and Fred must help defend the city from all seven elemental factions pressing against his territory, prepare his dungeon, and potentially find a way to save both humans and Dungeon Cores from extinction.

With the help of an unlikely ally, Fred has secretly obtained access to all seven elements for his Core — Fire, Water, Nature, Earth, Dark, Light, and Air. However, he finds himself behind enemy lines without the use of most of them. Now, with a small group of Allroads Government members serving as his "bodyguards," he has to safely make it back to the city. The Supreme Council of Dungeon Cores is ready to step up their attacks on Fred's dungeon beneath Allroads. With additional complications preventing him from fully utilizing his new elements, Fred must scramble to defend his dungeon, his allies, and all the people above — while still finding a way to save the world.
