Choosing a college when your family is struggling is hard enough without a meteor crashing nearby. In the aftermath, Matt's home city is locked down by a mysterious dome, corporations race to monopolize new resources, and people are developing powers through a System with seemingly sinister intentions. Matt decides to use his stealth class to adapt and survive — dragged into a LitRPG apocalypse set in the real world, where the price of failure is death and morally gray choices are the only kind available.

A mysterious golden tower has appeared overnight, drawing adventurers from far and wide — and beneath the surface, corruption and a power struggle fester. Still recovering from the events of Transposition, Matt sets out to rescue his best friend from the clutches of a mysterious organization. He will need every trick in the rogue's playbook — infiltration, cunning, and his unique Ordinator ability — to outthink opponents who are stronger and better-connected. Playing both sides comes with the territory. The obvious question is: how long can you play the villain before you become one?

With the threat of a second cataclysm bearing down on them, Matt and his allies double their efforts to climb the tower, juggling personal responsibilities, new players, unexpected assistance from unlikely sources, and the insidious possibility of threats from within. Matt's one-of-a-kind class has served as a roguish springboard, letting him operate as a puppetmaster from behind the scenes. But with disaster looming, he will be forced to make a choice: remain hidden in the shadows, or finally step into the light.
