Maximo Strident, war veteran and local law enforcement officer, never wanted to enter the dungeon. Promises of wealth beyond imagination convinced him. Without a Knight's magical equipment or spells, Max relies on the formidable sword forms he learned at the Blade Academy — more than enough for low-level monsters, but far short of what the dungeon demands. When something goes horribly wrong inside, Max meets the legendary hero Artur Brightblade, who grants him something he never dreamed of: a unique class and the ability to become a Knight. Armed with new powers, Maximo must learn to cast spells, work within a cohort, and craft worthy wargear — or the apocalypse will destroy everything he loves.

Maximo Strident, war veteran and local law enforcement officer, never wanted to enter the dungeon — but promises of wealth convinced him. Without a Knight's magic, he relies on the sword forms he learned at the Blade Academy. When something goes horribly wrong inside, he meets the legendary hero Artur Brightblade, who grants him a unique class and the ability to become a Knight. Armed with new powers, Maximo must learn to cast spells, level up effectively, and craft worthy wargear to solve the dungeon's mystery and stop the coming apocalypse.

After venturing into the Forlorn Dungeon, Maximo Strident has obtained the Arcanist class and become a Knight-Errant. Now he knows what lies within the strange dungeon: a vision of the future — the Apocalypse. But it is only a possible future. Max will lead a newly formed cohort of the best Knights-Errant into the Apocalypse, where adventure, power, and danger await. Along the way he must combine his spells most effectively, craft items to match the monsters ahead, and discover new classes for his allies to unlock.

The apocalypse looms, and only one man can stop it. Joined by his Apocalypse Knights, Maximo Strident faces dungeons and monsters at levels never before seen. The worst of all are the Harbingers — deranged parodies of Knights-Errant. It's a good thing Max can steal spells, because the world depends on him ascending to heights of power once thought impossible.
