Thera (A Monster Evolution LitRPG) | Royal Road OLD VERSION READ NEW VERSION INSTEAD Thera (A Monster Evolution LitRPG) | Royal Road

Petey, a Golden Retriever with a heart equally golden, was euthanized in a pound after over twelve years of bringing love to everyone he met. A few very powerful beings agreed this seemed unfair — and gave him a chance to live life to the fullest in another world, along with more than a few perks.

Malvia was once an Infernal of the Black Flame gang, a member of the Empire's most despised race serving in one of its most infamous criminal enterprises. But that's all in the past now. One faked death later, she's been living as Katheryn Falara, a slightly sketchy alchemist operating under the nose of the law — and business is booming. With the Anglean Empire's nobility constantly scheming against each other, both magic and machine benefiting from her skills, and an ever-expanding kingdom full of rare ingredients, Malvia has been content to sit on the sidelines and make a tidy sum of cash. However, a rash of poisonings among the noble heirs makes her behind-the-scenes role impossible. Elements of a life she wanted to leave behind keep resurfacing, and soon she'll find herself at the center of a web of intrigue — figure out the web, or be trapped by it forever.

A boy who doesn't see himself as quite human begins to learn the truth about his world — and not everyone is pleased about his existence. The story is intended to evolve into a full space opera with elements of magic woven through it.

When Earth is swallowed up and transmuted into a bestial landscape, it marks the first stage of induction into Elysium's multiverse. In an instant, the bloodthirsty creatures of Riven Thane's worst nightmares are unleashed. Riven is among a select few with a singular bloodline, and the Elysium system has its eye on him. Deadly trials, labyrinthine mazes, and mind-bending puzzles await — and surviving them is just the beginning. Riven is about to unlock the secrets of his past, embrace a vampiric nature he never imagined, and build an empire of the undead in a merged post-apocalyptic world.

Dr. Uru'Nav Xant, Department Head of Research, has been documenting his interviews with a newly discovered "Creator level" intelligent species: Human. His subject, Jasmine, displays many unique quirks — most intriguingly, an incredibly strong "frequency" she produces with the help of an implanted alien translator. Together the pair navigate cultural misunderstandings, corporate politics, and animal companionship while uncovering the mysterious circumstances of Jasmine's abduction.

A history teacher with familial trauma and a peculiar woman seemingly stuck out of time are thrust together into the weird and whimsical world of Altros — a planet with divides born of real superhuman strength, an odd ranking system, and natural species differences. Not ideal news for a Scottish history teacher whose ears have transformed into fox ones alongside nine new fluffy tails. Darren — or Lone, or whatever the strange system claims he's called — must figure out how to live with his new companion Sofia on a monster-infested island, alongside a self-proclaimed former immortal prone to bouts of extreme depression. At least there's an expansive LitRPG system to keep them entertained.

Travel with a newly born demon as he grows and learns — in his own world and in every other world he gets summoned to. Usually to die or kill for others in strange and exciting places, though it's never certain what the next summons will bring. With each new world comes a new story, new experiences, and new lessons. He will work hard to become stronger, to be useful, and hopefully survive that way. A coming-of-age story — but different.

So the world ended. Most people say that and mean humans are inconvenienced. Not this time — all matter disintegrated at the atomic scale. The local universe wasn't actually stable; what everyone took for sea level was actually a nice little mountain lake, and when the dam busted, so did everything. Magic is real, qi is real, gods are real — not on old Earth, but souls pay little attention to time and space, so humanity dreamed of it. The closer the shift in reality got to Earth, the closer those dreams got to the new reality. Reality became a video game. And Doyle Huxley became a dungeon. Doyle just wanted a normal life, but some early paths he takes — both literally and figuratively — lead him to becoming a dungeon core. This is his story.

Everyone has heard stories about people who died and were reborn with their memories intact — reincarnated as humans, elves, orcs, slimes, vampires, goblins. But what if you came back as the most common of household objects? What would happen if someone reincarnated as a fork? A comedic reincarnation story full of monsters, magic, fork philosophy, and merciless fork jokes.

After a bad fall while exploring a cave, a young woman emerges to find herself and the world utterly transformed. She is now a dragon — claws, teeth, wings, tail, horns, and scales included — in a world filled with monsters that didn't exist before. She won't give up. She'll fight to live, to stay herself, and to grow her hoard. Because greed is good, and gold is everything. Draka is a story about making your own place in a world that fears you, featuring slow power progression based on greed and hoarding, a mix of adventure and slice-of-life, and a draconic main character struggling to hold on to her humanity.

The gods have scrapped eternal torment in favor of something new: Eternia, a brutal, glitch-riddled wilderness where fresh souls are dumped with little hope of survival. Fail here, and it's back to classic hell as a consolation prize. Enter Ellie, who dies just in time to beta-test the gods' twisted new system. Utterly unprepared, she's tossed into a world where everything seems out to kill her — or glitch out before she can figure out what it's supposed to do. Armed with nothing but her wits and a reluctant sense of humour, Ellie must navigate hostile terrain, outwit aggressive wildlife, and find some purpose in this cosmic mess. In a world designed for divine entertainment where the rules are still being written, anything could — and probably will — happen.

Liora is a little thief who enjoys collecting shiny things like any self-respecting magpie. But one day she stumbles upon the shiny that changes her life forever — Archmage Renir, trapped inside a beautiful gemstone. After that, they are pursued by mages, forcing Liora to fight, learn skills, and evolve in order to grow stronger. All so that one day, she could free Renir from his prison.

She was the world's greatest assassin — a silent threat, the cause of a hundred mysterious deaths, all to feed her cats and pay her rent. And then she died. The last thing she expected was to be reborn as a harmless kitten in the hands of a very strange girl. Now tasked with mentoring the girl in the arts of assassination, Caroline Daniels (now known as the fearsome Queen Violence Von Ragamuffin) has to figure out how to mother an idiot while weighing as much as half a loaf of soggy bread. A lighthearted cyberpunk romp featuring cat shenanigans, found family, a soft progression system, and naps.

Miro was a slime — summoned under stressful circumstances and captured by the people hunting down its summoner. With no idea what lies in store, and food perhaps the least likely of prospects, Miro must navigate a world that wasn't expecting it.

When the sword awakens, it has slept so long that it has forgotten everything but hunger. It is a weapon made to feast on death and blood — the more bodies it leaves in its wake, the stronger it gets. Bloodstained Blade is a fantasy GameLit where the main character is the blade itself, not the person wielding it. Expect the wielder to die and be replaced as the Ebon Blade pursues its own goals, no matter the cost.

Tal is one of the elite undead soldiers of the Zozheim empire, resurrected from the corpse of an uncounted sacrifice. He does not know the man's name. He does not care. The body is his now. They say Tal exists to serve — and so he drowns and murders and pillages in the empire's name. But one thing is becoming clear: he exists. And soon, that fact will terrify his creators and their enemies alike.

Lugor is a Half-Orc, and in his world, that's a very dangerous thing to be. He dreams of becoming an Adventurer, slaying monsters and delving into dungeons — but one cut to his skin could reveal his secret. He's forced to spend his days in his small village, keeping his head down. When a monster attack turns his world upside down, Lugor seeks training at the Adventurer Academy, where he must contend against an arrogant mage determined to see him fail. With a steadfast Dwarven Elementalist and a sarcastic Dark-Elf Necromancer at his side, Lugor sets out to prove that being Half-Orc doesn't mean he can't be a hero.

When the apocalypse comes, Ashtoreth betrays Hell to fight for humanity. She was always too optimistic, too energetic, too nice — never fit in with the other archfiends. She was supposed to study humanity to help destroy it; instead, she fell in love with it. But as she tears through the tutorial recruiting allies to her cause, she quickly realizes something strange: the humans don't trust her. Sure, her main ability is [Consume Heart] and her class is [Bloodfire Annihilator], but that doesn't make her evil — it just means every enemy drops an extra health potion! It may take some work, but Ashtoreth is optimistic the humans will come around. After all, she has an important secret to tell them: Hell is afraid of humanity.

Nobody told him godhood needed an instruction manual. Reincarnated as the Administrator of a newborn universe, an ordinary man from Earth must design everything — physics, magic, plants, animals, and the rules that bind them — while ensuring the world generates the energy he needs to survive. The problem: every tweak he makes can cause unintended consequences. And sometimes, he has to live inside his own creation to experience the results of his choices.
